Overnight Outback Adventure

Departing Ayers Rock Resort 2.30pm 23 December 2020
Returning 3pm 24 December 2020

Travel from Ayers Rock Resort to Curtin Springs for an overnight adventure, including a trip to a location beside a crystalline salt lake overlooking Attila (Mt Conner), meditation and skywatch.  The following morning visit the sacred site of Cave Hill, where rock art depicting the Seven Sisters of the Pleiades is depicted, estimated to be more than 22,000 years old.

Accompanied by our guide, journey in air-con comfort by Mercedez Spritz 4WD with fellow Cosmic Consciousness delegates deep into the desert of the Pitjantjatjara Lands of Central Australia.

After an early dinner at an outback cattle station, you will be taken to a location nestled by a crystalline salt lake with beautiful views looking to Attila, is the perfect spot for a meditation and skywatch, followed by drinks and nibbles in the middle of the remote Australian outback, with the sounds of silence.

Overnight accommodation is provided at the Curtin Springs Outback wayside container cabins (very basic but air/con, clean sheeted beds) followed by an early breakfast before departure to Cave Hill.

On arrival we will be greeted by our Anangu host. The Anangu are the traditional owners of Cave Hill, which is the site of the Seven Sisters Tjukurpa (creation time), and are responsible for maintaining only that chapter of the Songline lying within the boundaries of their traditional homeland – a story that has been maintained since the beginning of time.

The highlight of the tour is the magnificent cave paintings thought to be at least 22,000 years old - possibly the most significant art site in Central Australia. The drama of the Seven Sisters Pleiadean creation story is graphically illustrated on the ceiling of the cave. Climb to the top of Cave Hill to admire a 360-degree panoramic of the surrounding countryside, including Uluru 100kms away, Attila and the imposing Musgrave Ranges.

Without any light pollution, can you imagine the brilliance of the night sky?  This will be a truly unforgettable experience.  On our last two trips to Cave Hill and Attila, we captured some interesting visitors, as you will see in the photos above.
