The 5th Dimension - Age of Aquarius

The rousing, happy theme song from the musical "Hair" is one of those songs that you can't help but feel good listening to. At the time the band, The 5th Dimension, wrote the song 'Aquarius' in 1969, we were still in the Age of Pisces. Ahead of their time perhaps? Or just preparing well ahead for the dawning of the Age of Aquarius.

We are just now just about to witness the dawning of the Age of Aquarius with the Jupiter / Saturn conjunction. Whilst the songwriters didn't get their astrological information exactly correct, looking at one verse of the song, there is a sense that they were envisioning the New Earth. Numerous ancient metaphysical or spiritual traditions have predicted the Aquarian Age to be a time period when we transit to a higher consciousness, revelation, more understanding, harmony, peace and love. So this part of the song is surprisingly accurate.
